rain + hot light

I was in downtown Akron tonight and it was raining. As I stepped outside of St. Bernard’s church

I noticed that one of the lights that illuminates the building (which is turned upward) was steaming and

smoking and fizzing like a witches cauldron because of the rain falling into the heated element.

I was out in the River Square District last week testing how long into the evening
the usable daylight is lasting now (mid March). I was surprised to find that I could
shoot easily until about 7:30 PM. The weather this week has been unseasonably warm, in the 70’s.
While out testing the light with my Nikon D700 I captured this ‘stars ornament’ which the city
puts on the top of lampposts in the downtown area during the winter.
Needless to say, they won’t be up much longer.
